Treatments that work.

In the fourth workshop of this series, we continue diving into biobehavioral treatments for pain. We cover the neuroscience and practice of mindfulness, including evidence-based treatments like MBSR. We discuss stigma and the importance of language. You'll learn specific techniques for pain, and how they hijack the sympathetic nervous system to lower pain volume. You'll learn how to track triggers, and change the pain response. We also cover self-soothing strategies to calm the pain system, the science of guided imagery, and the research and practice of biofeedback - including how to warm your hands using your brain. We conclude with practices, activities, and resources for providers and patients.
